Going through mild to moderate postpartum depression twice has made me realize how challenging it is to navigate mental illness, especially as a woman! Particularly at this time when I needed medical counseling, I couldn't access it due to longer wait times. Nonetheless, both times I was able to overcome depression through regular physical activities, especially running. Therefore, participating in a 10K run that supports women's mental health appealed to me.
I'm excited to be joining thousands of walkers and runners across Canada in the Shoppers Drug Mart® Run for Women, raising help for women’s mental health programs at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton Foundation.
Please consider donating to help me reach my fundraising goal. 100% of the funds raised will go directly to women’s mental health programs in our community
