I am excited to participate in the 2019 Love You Run for Women in Support of Women’s Wellness Programs at BC Women's Hospital
As many of you may know, I suffered badly from postpartum after the birth of my son. However, I was lucky to have a good support group to connect me with the resources I needed to get the right kind of help.
I know many mothers that dealt with the same mental issues I did after the birth of their children. And I also know that not all women are as lucky to have easy access to the resources I did. This run is to help raise awareness for those suffering from mental health issues and to raise funds to support local mental health services, making them more accessible for those in need.
I know now, for myself, regular exercise is one of the best ways to manage mental health issues.
This summer I will be joining thousands of women experience the healing effect of walking or running.
