Starting a new life is something I really wanted - needed, even - but going through the process was not an easy or fun one; the past 2 years have shown me just how important taking care of your mental health truly is.
They say exercise is one of the best way to manage mental health. To help deal with my mental health, I dedicated myself to a home yoga practice because it's what I had the energy to commit to during that time, but running has always been special to me. I'm really looking forward to running again.
I am thankful to have a wonderfully supportive circle: Family and friends who love me and support me. I am also lucky that I have access to the service of professionals, but not everyone is as lucky. I have run this race a few times in the past; this year, it will have an even more special place in my heart. I am excited to participate in the SHOPPERS LOVE. YOU. Run for Women in Support of Women’s Wellness Programs at Calgary Health Trust.
