I attended a support group at the Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba every week when I was on sick leave from work from September to November 2019 and when I was back at work part time in December 2019. I still go to my support group when I have a Monday off.
I have been struggling with depression for 8 years but only started talking about it and getting proper treatment for it in summer 2019. My support group is one of the things that has been a big help to me in my recovery. Talking about my experience with others who can really relate to it or offer advice has been a comfort and encouragement.
The Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba offers support groups, workshops, one-on-one peer support, a warm line, and more, with most services being free of charge. The funds raised through this Shoppers Drug Mart Run for Women will support the Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba.
Thank you to all who support me in my life and in this fundraiser!
