We all know how important mental health is.
We all know that it is more than an absence of mental illness.
Psychological, social and emotional wellbeing is necessary to enjoy life and effectively cope with its challenges. In the last couple of years, COVID has certainly dealt us many challenges. Though everyone has had their wellbeing challenged, it is the most fragile and disenfranchised who have suffered disproportionately.
As a Psychiatry department, we treat mental illness but we can do so much more.
We can research, educate and promote resiliency for all.
This event for women's mental health brings in many resiliency factors: exercice, community, belonging and altruism.
Let’s make this fundraiser into a testimony of our dedication to our common goal, and celebration of all we do well and a source of hope that this year we can walk and run together and enjoy each other’s presence.
Join me by registering for the run/walk , by donating to our department or both!
Thank-you
