We all know how important mental health is.
We all know that it is more than an absence of mental illness.
Psychological, social and emotional wellbeing is necessary to enjoy life and effectively cope with its challenges. Optimising our mental health means having a sense of purpose, a sense of community, permission to unplug, to do one thing at a time, to be fully present with those we love, to allow our minds to wander and wonder. We live in a society where constant comparison with idealised lifestyles, distress intollerance, isolation, over stimulation, under sleeping and sedantariness put our wellbeing at risk.
This event for women's mental health brings in many resiliency factors: exercice, community, belonging and altruism. It is a great way to do good for ourselves and our community.
Please join me by registering for the run/walk, by donating to our department or both!
